This is EXACTLY how my driving test went.

Because I thought my super awesome roommate would get a kick out of this.

Everyone always told me “college will be the best years of your life,” but so far I’m not convinced.  Shit just keeps erupting from the volcano of a life style I’m in and it’s getting increasingly harder to maintain my usual chipper attitude.  However, despite being knee deep in bullshit everyday I’ve managed to have a pretty fantastic time here.  While being here I’ve met some pretty fantastic people, a few I’m sure I’ll remain friends with for the rest of my life, and everyone has been so helpful and supportive with everything that’s been happening.  I’m truly thankful for the friends that I have, you know who you are, you continue to make me happy everyday, and I know I’ll be OK in the end because I’ll always have something happy to hold onto.

The artist of the week this week is Tiago Ribeiro, a.k.a. TAKORUone.  He does some really great work and has some really good line work.  His skills are rapidly improving, as he is now getting acquainted with copic markers.  He’s also got plans for a manga, Kiplague, that I’m sure will be fantastic.  I recommend you check him out.

I decided to do a weekly post every Tuesday to share with you all some of the fantastic artists I stumble across.  I am a big DeviantART user, and I’m constantly scrounging for new artists.  My first post is the art of Der-shing Helmer, aka Alexds1, she does some truly great work, with talent and humor, and anyone who checks out her work won’t be disappointed.  If you do happen to see her work, be sure to check out her fantastic web comic The Meek.

I thought I’d start off my Tumblr career with a lovely post about the fires in Freeman.  My dorm building has a terrible history of fires.  The fire alarm has gone off 6 times here, only one of which was an actual drill.  Every time one of these fires occurs it seems to somehow happen on my floor, the sixth, one of which was barely six inches from my door.  So because all the fires always happen on our floor, all sixth floor residents end up being interrogated until the wee hours of the morning.

And tonight the gruesome saga continues.  I was almost ready for bed when this alarm went off, I first heard it in the hallway, doubtful it could be another fire, but then reality struck, and in my panic I grabbed my few closest possessions.  This time the garbage room was on fire (for the second time I might add) and I saw the billowing smoke as I ran down the stairwell.  So now I wait to see the outcome of our endeavor across the way from the building, the bright lights of the fire trucks still within view.  I do beleive that I will once again have a sleepless night, as an 8:30 20th Century Civilization class waits for me in the morning.
